Hi Jois,

What are you looking for exactly?

Kind regards
if you like a good plce for visit and nightlife, go to nana hotel, it's cheaper and in the center for the nihtlife, for markets and you have metro just near the hotel, so you can visit all the parts of bangkok. the name of the statioon is nana station.
well, what is your budget. I always stay at a furnished apartment along Sathorn Road opposite a Baptist School, It is a nice quiet area, with 7/11 and a wet-market and food stalls just a stone throw away. For 800 THB a night (share between 2 person which is 400 THB per perperson) you get to use hot shower, unlimited coffee/tea/freezer etc, fresh towel and you can even join in dining with the owner, Rndal..he's vegetarian though. He can give great advice too. Try visiting his website to see the units available or email your enquiries to Randall . Hope you will enjoy the stay as much as I did year after year . Cheers Anson
Hey.I know some place thats about 690 bht for one night, not in the "tourist area" but close to cominucation.
I think they have some special offers like 4900bht for one month. Let me know if your intrested.
Sure, but first how long do you want to stay, what area do you want to stay, are you the least bit worried about safety, and cleanly-ness. Maybe, I know a perfect place for you. If all you want is to save. But, I warn you it's deffinatly a fixer-upper.
You should go on line and look at a map of Bangkok. Find the sites you would like to see and then look up Guest Houses near the Sky Train route. Then ask here if anyone knows of the Guest House you are interested in.

Have fun,
Randy

There over 300 hotels in Bangkok you may look at my profile and looking for my site link I have over 1700 in Thailand. You can book online too.
the best area is khao sarn road and the place to stay is sawasdee inn... clean and not expensive.
You don't mention how cheap or if you are looking for budget hotels. Nana's in Bangkok is the most central with some cheap and decent hotels. You need to shop around and make sure if the hotel charges "love tax". Most budget hotels don't, but the more upmarket hotels do. Nana's is packed with night life and shopping venues. You also have the BTS Sky train within close walking distance of Nana. That is also the name of station you need to go to.
Koi San road is also packed with very cheap accommodation and is favoured by backpackers and students. It is a very popular area for the younger crowd.

a nice, cosy place to be, not too far from skytrain station Sapaan Kwai, I staid there for 9 weeks before I bought my condo, and the people treated me like family: very cheap, good food too
Bangkok is very big. How old are you and what are you looking to do while in Bangkok? Prepare for hot weather.
Hi,

don't take the nana hotel as mentioned before. it is just a hookers place... of course it is a nice area to going out if you want some company, but that's all. later in the evening the parking lot in front of the hotel is crowded with ladies who just wait to picked up.

for a day trip i would suggest you take a boat at saphan taksin and get out at wan lang. nice small market for thais and very cheap. continue and take a boat to nonthaburi and from there a long tail boat to Ko Kret, Bangkoks island in the chao praya river. small temples,markets... the whole trip cost you not more as 150 baht per person....
Try these websites for online booking:

I've them both. They are secure and reliable. You need a valid credit card.
Khao San road is still the cheapest that Ive been, you can find every guest house possible from 500 Baht per night, alternatively you can stay around soi 4, Ive stayed at woraburi (1,400 with breakfast) or nanathai hotel (1,100 with breakfast, its at the end of soi 4 so basically quiet.. and you can walk towards the busy area of nana which less than 500 meters...
You should go to KHAW-SAN RD. That's a bagpacker place. Alots of good guest house Or hotel to stay. Or in Rambhuttree Rd. Just Opposite Vieng-Tai Hotel have a cheap hotel call Star Dome. It's start from 10 us dollar/night. (fan room) Tel: 02-6291136 So, you can start your trip from there, Book some trip in Thailand at some Travel Agency there... So easy... Have a good trip. ^^
Amy.
Bangkok is very large and diverse, there are places that are very cheap but not in a good location, what are you want to pay? Also what do you want to do in Bangkok - are you looking for nightlife and what type, sightseeing - temples, palace, shopping? Do you want or need to be close to the BTS Skytrain or MTR Metro? Tell me what you want then I can suggest some places for you.
Well...first time in bangkok and need to get to know the cheap place.i recommend 2 choice for yuo
1. if you don't mind about backpacking area. i think you will hear " kaosarn road" it's favourite place for backpacker and there has a lot of cheap hotel. both of guest house and hotel. such as vieng tai hotel
my friend used to stay there and it's ok. you can travel in grand palace area and famous temples ..(rattanagosin circle).
2.If you need to rest at convenient area . i recommend in sukhumvit area. it's both of subway and skytrain for travel in downtown. and of course you can go to the place in item 1 by subway then change to tuktuk(thai taxi) to reach at all place in item1 easily. However all hotel in sukhumvit area almost expensive but i recommend 1-2 place that it's very cheap for you.
***youth hoster in sukhumvit25. It's not only youth but open for the other people, clean and cheap
Anyway have a nice trip. if you like to get more detail please ask.i will try to answer.
I will not tell you where to go but if you like to see a nice oasis in the midle of the concreat jungel then visit, Refillnow.co.th.
It is not the cheapest place around but they will defently take good care of you and help you gays with Long tail boat and Give you a ride to ither SKy train or to the Taxi boats wich is a nice way to travel in Bangkok.
Enjoy your journy and live a good life.

All best Anders
I recommend two web-site for you. All of the places in those web-sites are not expensive especially you share room with others. I think, it's around 300 bath per night. Anyway, you can should what you want. :)

Enjoy!

I always stay in the Banglamphu area, but away from the infamous Khao San road. Just behind wat Chana Songkhram. Lots of cheap friendly safe places to stay. The weekend market at chatuchat is good.
how long are you guys planning to stay? a lot of cheap back packers stay around Kao San road (near chinatown) but it's not convenient if you like to move around Bangkok, should be near BTS but will be a bite more expensive
I reccomend you to stay in Backpacker area named Khaosarn Road. Pls. visit these websites to select the guesthouse you want

GBme Ching Roe, Any how lets talk cheap i personaly believe if you want cheap you should stay in one of these 1,500 baht condoes. It maybe a rat infested hole in the wall condo, but thats the beauty of it all. That whole in the wall rat infested condo is where you could save capitol. Now is a time of ressesion and these third world countries are of those that will float to the the top like a stinky .... If you catch my whif. Now it is surely the time to save and I may just know one of the many places that you could stay and live local life. Welcome to the Jungle, Ooops... I guess I meant welcome to Bangkok. Pleased to meet you. I hope you guessed the name.

I recommend a hotel located opposite MBK department Store named Reno Hotel. You can check its website at . I suggest you to book in advance because it is always fully booked.

Another hotel is Ibis Hotel which is located on Sathorn Rd. It's a brand new hotel and there is a MRT station (Tube station) nearby.

Nana Hotel, Sukhimvit in the lowers sois, is around 500 THB a night and do-able
Suk 11 in Sukhumvit Soi 11 is a good budgeted place to stay in the middle of town. It is located on one of the most happening street. You can book online directly.
What is your budget and how many days do you wish to spend ? As a member of Localyte, I will make it affordable for you. Thanks
suksawad hotel 320b for room with tv and shower
near ko san road , in bang lamphu samsen soi6
Hi
Please provide the approximate Budget you have in mind, there are rooms’ available form 500 THB to 2000 THB a day, depends on the location, Facilities and amenities
Thanks
Theresa

It depends on the time you will be in Bangkok. To short time, about two or three weeks you can find nice and cheaps hotels in Khao San area . I choose this area for you as you will can find a lot and very useful services over there : cheap travels agencies , people hanging around and all kind of things to do , try and see . Ah, when you arrive at the airport just take a public taxi . It will cost around maximun 300 bahts. And recharge your camera battery !!!
Be careful cheap is not nesessary the cleanest or most convienient. Rather request a hotel that is middle of the range that you can afford and return back here for another holiday.
I know several very cheap hotels in central Bangkok.
Hi there,
If you want the cheaper place and lots of shopping area I can success the Khoa San road they normally western people call a bag packer area but they have so many type of hotel or guest house that is not to bad to stay.
if you like something not so far from Khaosan road, here is another recommendation

check it out on
I would be able to help you get accomdation at 500 -600 baht a night, near to the airport, major shopping malls, Suan Luang night bazzar... you may contact me at
if you need the cheape place i recommend
Bangkok Youth Hostel.
Please visit for more information. You can choose and view budget hotels and more upmarket hotels there. Nana's is a favourite tourist spot for night life in Bangkok. It is very central, safe and has many food and shopping outlets.
Another favourite location for backpackers and the younger crowd is Khao San Road in Bangkok...
I'm able to help you at 500 to 600 baht per night and is close to amenities. contact me at for more details
Hi Jois,

I think you're best of at khao sarn Road. Many hostels and guesthouses. Also nice and cheap restaurants.
Enjoy.
