Question

where can i take a two year old, on a sunday to enjoy him self

Location

Country: Kenya

Answers

This of course depends on your exact location. But in general, in the urban areas, there are many parks that offer special kids activities like bouncing castles, face painting, toy car rides. E.g. Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
Many family restaurants / nyama choma places (meat roasted on the BBQ, Kenya's national dish) offer similar activities in the weekend. Sometimes they even have comedians and clowns who do a special kids show, so both parents and kids can enjoy their Sunday afternoon in a typically Kenyan way. E.g. Eureka in Kiserian, some 30 kms south of Nairobi.
I hope both of you will enjoy!
Thanks so much, am located in Nairobi.
It depends on whether you would like a private place with about three to eight other children or on open scenario. For a laid back sunday afternoon I highly recommend Peppers restaurant in westlands. They have a well maintained childrens section complete with nannies on the house to keep an eye on your youngster.
Nakumatt westgate also has a kids arcade on the second floor but it is absolutely busy on sundays.
Thanks so much for your help, am looking forward to enjoy with my son
hi if you are asking about mombasa area coz thats where i am then i can recomend the one place which is like a water world with everthing a 2 year old would enjoy and its like 2 kms from nakumat nyali and next to mamba disco its called wild waters you can try that.
Am sorry am around Nairobi, but if i happen to be in mombasa will visit the place. Thank you
Nairobi's westlands @Nakumatt Westgate is perfect for kids at the foodcourt... lots of fun games for kids to unwind and mingle with their agemates. also Village market is cool at the poolside, there is a pool for young kids
Thanks so much, hope to have a good time
Thanks so much for your question, now it depends where you are, i took my son one day to Blue post hotel n we had an amazing time, also you can go to places like sharks place, rock city etc let me know if this will help.
Thanks so much, hope to have a good time
Hi. I can advise you in Mombasa.
1) There is Haller Park and Mamba Village where a kid can enjoy the parks and animals.
2) Wild waters where there is swimming / slides / games ...
3) You can spend the day by the beach at one of the North coast hotels where they do sunday lunch barbeque and swimming...e.g Whitesands Hotel / reef hotel / Voyager Hotel.
Thanks so much for your help but am in nairobi but if i happen to be in mombasa will visit the place.

Hi, there is an array of options for children entertainment in Kenya. It all depends on one's preference, location and budget. Please specify your location and u will be able to get details of specific places and their descriptions. Thanks.
am located in Nairobi
if you are in nairobi you can take your child to the splash next to carnivore.they have this baby pool that they can really have fun in,water slides, bouncing castles, sand pit, merrygo round and horse or camel rides.you can also take them to childrens world at adams arcade where they have a safe ground with care takers, food courts and plenty of games to play.another place they would have some fun is Rim club opposite uchumi langata road.they have all sorts of merrigorounds fit for all ages of children and adults.on sundays they have children entertainment and you can enjoy some good nyamachoma on a lazy sunday afternoon
hi
Please if you specified your exact location it would be very easy for us to propose for you the best places. but in major towns there are places you can take you child to enjoy. Nairobi places like Splash ,Upper Hill springs are good. The Mamba Village is also very good .Thanks
Panari Ice Skating off Mombasa Road at the Panari Sky Center is the place for you to take a 2 year old on a Sunday afternoon!

Let your child enjoy something different and unique - an experience of a life-time. Not to worry, for a minimal fee, the instructors will teach both you and your child to skate and I can guarantee you, both of you will have lots of fun together which eventually results to QUALITY TIME TOGETHER!

In case you decide to head for Panari Ice Skating, remember to pack a small change of warm clothes for both you and your son. The ice is cold but LOTS OF FUN!
I would recomend you to take the child to Nairobi national park or the Animal Orphanage in Langata. In order to make the day more lively pass through the Bomas of Kenya to watch a variety of dances
There are a number of places where you can go with your two year old child, Most of the upmarket shopping malls in Nairobi have children activities on weekends. I would recommend village market, Sarit Centre and Yaya centre, there are are a number of food courts in the shopping malls.

The other great option is to visit the giraffe centre, where the kid can have an option of feeding the rothschild giraffee. The giraffee centre has a food court.

Rachel
Hi Eunice,

For a tweo year old child i would recommed that you visit the Village market baby pool area where your child will find many other children in that age bracket, They have a small pool area specifically for babies who at first hesitate getting into the baby pool but once they get the hang of it it then becomes a nightmare getting them out,

There is also Jumping Castles normally at the Steers resturany in westlands, who also have face painting, The museum and snake park althoughh is a bit young then there is the animal orphanage and nature trail in the langata area. Kids love the Giraffe Center as well as the Elephant Orphanage close to the Ongata Rongai center but they are open for only 1 hour between 11-12 on sundays.

I too used to take my son to these places and he loved it,

Let me know if you would require any more info.

Olepolos country club is the best place for children and it is easily accessible by road,It is on the Magadi road ,approximately 10 km from Kiserian. You can call me on 0722 66 88 00 for information.
there are many places you could take a two year old to enjoy him or herself. for starters you could take him to haller park where she could enjoy the vicinity and the animals, there are 200 year old tortoises that are big and he or she can ride on them, there is the mamba village where your child can enjoy horse rides, bouncing castles and the company of other kids of her age, then there is the other alternatives of going to a beach hotel since most of them organize sunday fun fares for families to enjoy. it comes with an aray of a buffet, swimming for your kids, and a bouncing castle, face painting and magic shows they are in beach hotels such as Nyali beach hotel, Voyager beach hotel, sunrise beach hotel. The good thing is they are cheap since you wouldnt spend beyond ksh 1500 for the both of you, that is if you are in mombasa. have a thoughtful weekend
Hi Eunice!
The public beach in Bamburi is quite splendiferous for a two year old - besides lots of other kids to make new friends with, there are camel rides and boat rides, go karts for kiddies at Yul's (with Yummy ice cream), face painters, squigly balloon hats, magicians and acrobats and a feast of coastal goodies like Madafu, cassava crisps and and and...
hi Eunice, this depends on your location. If in Nairobi I would recommend Uhuru park and also Splash. These two places are fun for kids. If in Mombasa try Wild waters in Nyali,or watersports in kenyatta beach. He will enjoy water slides, merrygorounds, bouncing castles, face painting and camel rides in the mentioned places. also Garlitos will do for a nice snack like a pizza, hotdog, icecream or burger and most have slides, swings and bouncing castles for kids.In any other location nature and animal parks will do, kids love it.Enjoy

Hi Eunice
places like uhuru park, Nairobi safari walk can be well entertaining for kids of that age, wildlife safaris might not be fun couse will be too long and boring sitting in the car for more two hours.

Hi... you should tak him to Sheldrik, located in Nairobi... this is an elephant orphange... they keep baby elephants.... they feed them play with them and let visitors touch them too... i belive your son would love to see them up close... my niece certainly did... they even have a baby rhino too... last i went there it was just walking... These elephants were rescued from different places and are kept in the orphange till they are able to move into the wild... you should try this place out... i believe you will enjoy...
if you are in Nairobi, nairobi museum, the nairobi animal orphanage, safari walk, Daphne sheldric place, the giraffe centre will be perfect. in mombasa; Haller park, Mamba crocodile farm, ngomomongo villages, the likoni ferry and the public beaches and also beach hotels will be appropriate.
Please advise us on your locality and we will advise you on the scenes best to visit
Am located in Nairobi. thanks

Thanks so much for your help, how i will have a good time.
think water! one place many people don't know about is Masai Lodge. it's way off the city off magadi road in Rongai but the environment is just one of a kind. it's like driving to shags only to find a haven in the middle of no where and the crowd is just the best! there's a lot of nice food and the joint sits next to a stream with birds all around. you sure would love the place!
1.ButterFly Farm & Haller Park -Tortoise Ride, Fish ponds and Nature walks.
Children need wide open spaces for them to play around.

2.Wild-Waters- Water amusement park.

3.The beach, Reef/Mombasa Beach - semi-private location, Camel rides and Boat rides

4.Oil-Libya/ Galitos-- Bouncing Castles and a Slide

5.Mombasa Sports Club -They have a playground, sand box and monkey bars.
If your refering to the city in general there's the giraffe center which has the giraffes and i'm sure can entertain the kid. there's also the national park that is the habitate for several animals like lions, monkeys and other animals that can facsinate the kid. There's also places like village market and splash that offer baby pools, bouncing castles and more. But if you are refering to Kileleshwa, there's not much, though there's the arboretum forest where you can enjoy a nice picnic with the kid and maybe spot some monkeys. Otherwise i guess you'll just have to go into the city.
Hey Eunice,
If you are in Mombasa then Take the Kid to Wild waters, and spoil it! It is a kids paradise. If using public transport take the Matatus that ply to Nyali- Reef,it is just past the Mamba village gate before you get to the Nyali Barracks junction. You can also take the kid to haller park, or take the kid to Public beach (Jommo Kenyatta) here he/she can mingle with others.
am base at malindi so in case that the destination you are refering to i would recommend a place called breeze point few meters from Malindi airport as you are driving to town. the place is famous so anyone at that point can direct you. there are swimmipools with floaters, acrobats, dancing and intelligence competition, seasaws, children playing items and a hotel and bar as you wait for your child and security is guarantee. There is real breeze and u can watch malindi town from the point.
Hi Eunice,
if it happens that you are in Eldoret, i advice you to take him to Poa Place. this is a very interesting place to be and especially for kids to enjoy themselves.
this place actually offer the following services for kids,
1. facial painting
2. camel riding
3. meri go round
4. swimming
also he'll be able to see different kind of animals eg. girafe, monkeys, baboons and other atractives
Eunice, you say you're in Nairobi. On a sunday, there's a lot to do. Hi-Tide at Village market and Splash at carnivore are both great places to swim and go on the slides (though if you're son is only 2, he may be too young for that).
Olepolos country club.
any place really is child friendly.
The best place to Visit is Mombasa and extends to Malindi and to Lamu as you learn the History of East african Coast ,well Kenya has got different species of Tropical Birds too that you can also View in the Rift Valley and also Vast wilderness with tropical wild animals stay in touch Ronny
i guess you would also consider my answer to your querry though coming a bit late i suggest that you take your two year old to a place with bouncing castles, face painting and also where there are kids favourites i.e coffee shops where cakes are available, horse riding, toy car riding and also consider swimming coz of the hot weather,i don't prefer places where the kid does'nt get all the attention,,examples of places you can choose with your convinience include, choma zone msa rd,cabbanas, splush, former tents in buruburu shopping centre, smartvillage in adams arcade, also nados on gong rd.
Mamba Village,
Girrafe Centre,
Snake Park,
Nairobi Safari walk,
Village Market,
Some hotels offer fun activities for children on Sundays..
Thanks..
Just avoid bars however attractive they may seem. Many parents nowadays are going with their kids to drink because such spots offer bouncing castles to their kids and later wonder where the little one learnt how to kiss or fight. Take him to a park or a zoo. just be there as a parent and you will have a good time.
hi eunice,
In nairobi you can't go wrong, you can try lots of places like the arboretum or the many public parks and many more, hope you enjoy your sunday.

regards,
lore.
Two Years old will enjoy at the Tents on Mombasa Road behind Total Petrol Station. I have tested it and like the jump and face painting. Alternative place will be at Yaya Centre.
