HI.. there are many hotels in the center of the city, but it depend where you would like to stay; there are actually 2 cities side by side: the historical city , which is more charming, and the modenr city with luxurious hotels. The best experience in Marrakech is to live in a historical riad. I have myself a mini-riad of 2 bedroom for rent for short stay. It is cheap and has the advantage of authentic medina experience. It is in one of the best , quiter area of the medina , minutes away from the famous Jamma3 el fna, and about 20 minutes walk from the center fo the modern city. Let me know if oyu would like more infos. Here oyu can find also my ad in this site: thank you. JL
Hello Corina,
Marrakech is one of the oldest cities in Morocco and is one of the four Imperial cities (Fez, Rabat and Tangiers being the three others). As such, Marrakech holds many hotels in various locations depending on your budget and touristical objectives. Aside from hotels, Marrakech is also very much known for its luxurious riads. Although some of them can reach astronomical prices, others are available for a lower budget yet with an unprecedented service. My advice, check out and contact them. They will guide you in anything you want to do in Marrakech and they prices are very competitive.
Have a nice trip to Morocco :-)
Hi Corina,
it is all a budget matter!
location..location! that's the secret to best accomodation and the pleasure it offers. If you consider a great place, book a riad in the medina to avoid the hassles of taxi drivers and get close to the life , unless you can afford some fantasy prizes for the mamounia palace.

In Marrakech, you have it all and just consider how much you can spend.
Hello Corina!
Several times I stayed in hotels in Marrakech and the choice of a hotel here depends on your budget. You can find different kinds of hotels in Marrakech, cheap hotels, big western style hotels or riads. Personally I would recommend you to stay in a Riad, it is part of experiencing the marrakechi lifestyle. You can find the big hotels in the new part of the town, but most riads are within the walls of the old city medina). A riad is a traditional old moroccan house, which has as main feature a garden in the center and all the house rooms are around it (Riad in arabic means garden). Many of this houses were abandoned and some years ago people started buying and renovating them, turning many in small, confortable and special hotels. Not only because they are beautiful places, but also because of it's location - in the old medina. I really like to stay in Riad 107, a beautiful Riad within a 3 minute walk of the Jmaa el Fna Square and the famous Marrakech souks (markets). It is also within walking distance of many Marrakech monuments and palaces.
Finding restaurants in Marrakech is an easy to find too, you will find many all over town, cheap, expensive, moroccan or international food. Try the number one of the Jmaa el Fna Square: Aicha. or in a more fancy evening the Cafe Arabe, also in the medina, it has really good moroccan and italian food at reasonable prices.

For more information on Marrakech, riads, restaurants, monuments you can take a look at this site:
it has really good and usefull information :)
Enjoy your stay in Morocco!

Hello!
I will of course recommend the riad that I run with my husband in the medina ( the old part of town) Riad Saba is very centrally located within 7 min walk from the big square, museums and several restaurants. We alwyas help our guests to find good restaurants and also help organize excursions, hikes in the High Atlas, transfers etc.
Our price is 105€ incl breakfast and if you book directly at we can give you 20% off.
Have a nice trip-Marrakech is fantastic!

You have plenty ideas for hotels by local owners. Go for them. Riads are a good choise if you go by springtime or summer, in winter times might be really cool and in case you are travelling without babies (too many steps for pushing chairs).
Don't worry for shoping, medina is always like a big shop. Be carefull with prices!!
