Location

Country: Singapore

Answers

That depends on your taste. For action, rides, etc, it's Universal Studios in Sentosa with other marine-based theme parks opening soon at Sentosa. Another rides type of theme park is Escape Theme Park at Pasir Ris (with Wild Wild Wet next door).

There are also other nature-based theme parks aimed toward the family and is slightly educational in nature: The Night Safari - the world's first night zoological gardens when you can stroll up close to many nocturnal animals, the Singapore Zoo - a leading open concept zoo, the Bird Park - containing the world's tallest artificial continuous flowing waterfall, the Singapore Science Centre and Omnimax theatre, Snow City next door to the Science Centre, There is also Underwater World in Sentosa - a walk through aquarium where the sharks and giant sting rays swim overhead.

A quieter stroll-through theme park is Haw Par Villa. It is not as popular these days but has made it into .au's top 10 most bizarre places in the world to visit in 2009. It has over 1000 stone carvings of Chinese mythological figures which include the 18 levels of hell which were originally to warn people against evil-doing.

If you like botany, try the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Orchid Gardens. The Botanic Gardens were the first place rubber trees were grown outside of South America and started the Malaysian rubber industry which would produce the majority of the world's rubber.

There are other places to stroll through such as the Japanese Gardens and the Chinese Gardens which are much, much tamer than Universal Studios. It all depends on what you want to see and do.
You should head to Resort World at Sentosa Island. Universal Studios just recently opened so it promises a lot of fun rides. worth checking it out!
