hi, friend.
For sharm I think, they answer you
About Cairo.
If you are in Tahrir Square go to Hilton ( Koshary) Down Town (El Tahrir)
Nasr City ( Tom And Basl ) Giza ( Abou Emad )
Not Abou Tarek ( Maarouf St., )
If you want good lunch ( Nile Veiw) Go to Happy Dolphin ( Manyal ) Reasonable Prices
1. Pubs and restaurants in Cairo: Italian - Cortigiano at Heliopolis (14 Samir Mokhtar St); Seafood – the Fish Market on the Americano Boat, all the big hotels have good but expensive restaurants – Sabaya at the Intercontinental, Lai Thai at Four Seasons, Indira (for Indian food) at the City Stars Holiday Inn,. You could also try 35 Lounge in the same complex. Buddha Bar in the Sofitel El Gezira is reputed to be a top night spot but although I’ve stayed at the hotel I haven’t been there myself and Sangrai, Downtown opposite the Conrad is also good but expensive. Also try the Cairo Jazz Club for live music or After8 pub. There’s a good website at that has details including addresses and telephone numbers…

2. Pubs and restaurants in Sharm – Camel Roof & Bar; bar on the roof at the Bayview Hotel; lots of people like the Hard Rock Café; Pomodoro for Italian; Al Masriyin for oriental; Dananeer; Mahoney. None are in Coral Bay but it’s not far in a taxi. Sorry, I don’t live in Sharm so I don’t know what’s not on the tourist trail. It’s not all that big; I suspect everything is pretty much for tourists.

3. In Sharm you can do every sort of water sports – water skiing, parasailing, glass-bottomed boats, kayaking, snorkelling, diving, windsurfing etc. etc. Our company (Nile Wave Travel) can take you on day tours to Santa Caterina or the Coloured Canyon at Nuweiba, to Petra in Jordan or to Ras Mohamed National Park, or for a sunset safari and dinner into the desert either on camel or quad bike. Locals (mostly workers in the hotels etc.) like to go the cafes in the Old Market.

4. Lots of people (including my husband who is Egyptian) say that the best kosheri is Abou Tarek, Downtown, although I’m quite fond of our local Koshero in Faisal Street
