In Lima is not so cold but enough to wear a jacket
Hi there!
July is an excelent time for visiting Cusco, but , it is also one of the most demanding month for national visitors.
The weather is sunny during the days , just a little cold in the shadow, and cold at nights (no less than 5 C).
Is preferrable if you can reserve tickets and lodge with at least 4 months in advanced.
Enjoy Peru!!
could you tell me some touristics points in Lima and nice quartiers for a stay?
thanks.
It is cold in the night and very strong sun during day. Very dry, take your lipstick and sun protection.
thanks! cold you tell me the nice places where to fun?
Hey, we'll be glad to receive you in Cusco in July, it's summertime so not cold at all but as everywhere in the mountains, just cold at night. July is the best time to visit Macchu Picchu because they celebrate de Inti Raymi festival remembering the incas and thanks to the gorund and sun; just be sure to reserve the plane tickets and the hotel. It's going to be unforgetable,
warm regards, Mercedes Torres
Inti Taymi is in June ....
Thanks a lot!
Hola There:
Cusco's weather in July is great, though during the night it might get down to 2°C. get in contact with Alberto Paravecino from Apumayo Expediciones at . He can provide precise information about the destination.

Cheers
thanks! are you a tour guide?
Hi Daniela:

July is the best time of the year to visit Cuzco and Macchu Picchu; during day hours it's most shiny and warm, very little rain; the nights are cold but dry, nothing a couple of local blankets can't handle. But beware: it's the high tourism season, and, if you have been watching the recent news, Macchu Picchu has sufferd the worst rainy storm in decades (the train from Cuzco is almost railess in some parts, the river nearby just flooded it all an the engineers are openning a new route from Cuzco; they say around April this year the tourists we`ll be able to return again); so ... you should be very well informed of the developing situation from now on. I can monitor it for you if you accept it (for free of course!). Let me say that Cuzco is not only Macchu Picchu, there are plenty of other attractions and, take note: last night I saw in TV that during February and March there wil be some incredible promotions (like 2 persons for the cost of one in many hotels there, others hotels for US 15 US dollars a night, air fare tickets for only $ 25 US dollars
from Lima - Cuzco, never again available, be shure of it). ready to answer any other questions you may have.
Juan
thanks a lot, I knew about the strong rain in Cusco and I hope be there in july because I think the city will be prepared for to receive the tourists again. I will start searches about hostels, tickets of bus and guide. How many hours it takes between Lima/Cusco by bus and what should I do to arrive in Machu Pichu?
It's coldish in Lima (but not freezing cold) and sunny in Cuzco and Machu Picchu during the day. Can be bone-chilling cold at night when the sun sets...
thanks!
Hi Daniela. Cusco is great in July! I was there last year during Independence Day, it's sunny and warm during the day but you definitely need some extra clothing for the cold night. During July, it's usually packed with foreign and national tourists so I strongly recommend you to book your hotel and activities in advance.

This last year I stayed at Pirwa Backpackers Hostel, it's nice but a little far from the Plaza de Armas. There are more hostels (including Pirwa Familiar) near the square and you can find good prices. I used to find a place and it worked, hope you find it useful too.

As for activities, I booked tours and stuff with the tourist agency the Hostel provided, but as I said before, I really think it's better to do it with time. All of the tourist agencies are offering discounts right now (because of the rains), maybe you can get one for July, won't hurt to ask. You can google them, most serious agencies have very friendly websites.

Regards,
Brenda Lía
Thanks a lot!
THIS MARCH IS A GOOD CHANCE TO VISIT CUZCO, EVEN YOU CAN'T VISIT MACHU PICCHU, THERE ARE A LOT OF AMAZING AND IMPELLING PLACES AROUND CUZCO. Yes, you will find a 15 ºC during day sunny, at night low overall if you will do a inca trail maybe low minus 1 ºC
