I think there used to be something at at the Marine Fisheries building situated next to Marina Bandar Rowdha, but I a) I am not sure if it is still there or b) what size it is. It's worth checking though.

Nope there arent any Big Aquariams in oman, but there are few dive sites that are called Aquarium.
but there is a building next to Marina Bandar Rowdha belongs to the minstry of Marine & Fishers that holds few tanks that shows different types of marine fishes that lives in Oman. there are also some turtles there that the kids might enjoy watching.
Hi Mr. Victor! No, If you mean Aquarium same as Santosa or Dubai Aquarium; but a shop selling Aquarium is available in Sabco center or CCC. Thank you!
I don't think so,but there is old building next to bander a,rowdhaa.
I'm shocked really, some of you are not sure if there is or not. well, let me answer my own question, and hope it will be useful for all of us.

It called “Omani Aquarium & Marine Science and Fisheries Centre “ or Sea Creature Exhibition.

Located just opposite to Marina Bander Al Rawdha at Sidab (between Al Bustan Palace Hotel and Old Muscat (have a coffee break at the coolest place in Muscat).
It is under Ministry of Fisheries Management, it’s meant for research and science studies under cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University, opened in 1986 (it is the same year the university opened)
As some already indicated, it is not like Dubai or Santosa Aquarium, even some will not call it aquarium at all, and they are correct. The sea creatures (mostly fish) are exhibit in glasses and pools with posters on its contents (worth to read).
The centre , show many & unique sea life mostly from Omani waters (3,165 KM) and there were some from other places, the exhibition is worth to visit, it show many creature you have not seen before and may not think it is in Omani water.
Opening hours are from 8 a.m to 2 p.m (Sat – wed) Thursday till 1 p.m and Friday it is from 3 p.m till 6 or 7 p.m (but not all Friday) …. Better to visit them from Sat- Wed as I have tried on Thursday and Friday the timing they indicated (and confirmed by them over the phone) they were closed , you better confirm with them on the day you visit +968 24 736 449
