Hi yes the water has medicinal effects on skin diseases.you stay in the swimming pool for some time. A dermatologist can tell you more expertise about the minerals in the water - this minerals are the same in some of the expensive body scrubs on the supermarket shelves. the difference it these minerals are not processed so they give much effect. Therefore you can start with bogoria water - then later occasionally you may visit the elementaita after the water comes back- there is a natural water spring - warm but not as big or hot as that for bogoria. I have heard that that water has healed skin polorysis(excuse spelling) condition where the skin discolors - and goes backto normal. but still you can cure some of these diseases by diet - our african diet is ideal. for accommodation lake bogoria hotel is ideal and if you want more info my address is .......
It is true, water has medicinal effects on skin diseases. Consult the Doctor for more details. North of Nakuru, is the Lake Bogoria National Park. Despite its beauty, it's not a destination frequented by many visitors. The soda lake, which covers an area of 30 sq km, is shallow, with a maximum depth of 9 metres. Like other Kenyan soda lakes, it has no outlet and the intense evaporation has led to high levels of salt and minerals. Lake Bogoria has no fish but is rich in blue-green algae; as a result it attracts massive amounts of flamingos.
The Loburu hot springs erupt along the lakeside and are as captivating as they are dangerous. Because of the extreme temperatures of these boiling springs you need to be careful when near them.
Lake Bogoria National reserve is situated just off the B4 from Nakuru. There are three gates to the reserve, and the best is to turn right off the B4 just before Marigat and proceed to main entrance (Loboi gate).
