Tell me about cell phone services in San Juan Puerto Rico

I have a T-Mobile account and will be traveling to San Juan in September. I live in Florida and my service is established here.

City: San Juan

Territory: Puerto Rico

Country: United States

I was curious too but I have ATT Wireless. ATT Wireless covers Puerto Rico very well. Perhaps you might want to get the ATT Go-Phone Pay-as-You-Go (your just pay for the minutes used) for your travel to Puerto Rico.

T-Mobile doesn't seem to cover Puerto Rico directly but it probably partners with someone there to allow roaming (will be costly to you though). Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. I thought you were located in Puerto Rico due to your expertise as indicated in your email.

I called T-Mobile and they told me that my cell phone should work in PR just as it does at home.

Where do you get your info?

I'm not going to buy a new cell phone to use on my vacation.
I got my information from T-Mobile and ATT Wireless websites. I was also researching coverage in Costa Rica as I am planning to visit. Anyway, after further research, although T-Mobile doesn't directly cover PR, it does partner with Cingular/ATT, and several other carriers in PR. It seems to be transparent and at no cost to you. Here is a link that might be useful: (check to see if your phone device is capable for such expanded coverage).
Almost 99% of the people that come to the island have cell phone service.
I am connected with Centennial and get 1000 minues for out going calls I have two lines .
I have to pay for roaming if I go to Florida.
Others dont.
I pay about $90 a month
