There are plenty of amazing places to eat in Barcelona. If you're looking for restaurants there's Montiel, Pla, El Salon, Paco Meralgo, all very nice, some tapas oriented and some not. Tons of tapas places in the Gothic and Born neighborhoods. If you want to do a few tapas tours I'd contact Hi This Is Barcelona (website), they're a great company and have plenty of private food oriented tours.

I recommend you a Fast food named Fresco. It cost about 10 euros per person and it is "all you can eat". You can eat a lot of salads and pasta and usually Paella but not fish and meat. You can find them around the most touristic places in Barcelona. I also reccommend "Casa Pascual" with a set menu for 11'50 euros and "Nass" for 12 euros in working days in Barceloneta.
There are many places to eat in Barcelona for a good price and healthy .

We have a chain call Fresco . It is a very healthy place with a lot of salads and fruits.

We have a sandwich company called Pans and Company. One day you could eat a sandwich there and it is economical.

A little bit more expensive would be the chain Monchos. They have interesting menus durign midday and they are not very expensive.

Hi!

Taking into account that you are travelling with hungry teens, if you want to eat local food that is affordable, there is a Catalan Cooking chain called Mussol that serves abundant food at reasonable price (cheaper than Montiel, Pla, Paco Meralgo... that are of a medium-high level, but more expensive than a fast-food option like Fresco would be). They have a restaurant around the corner from Casa Batllo, a very convenient and centric location.

A similar one is La Llesca, with one of their venues near the Sagrada Família, and Tasca i Vins with one of their venues in the Born district.

For a special evening when you are ready to spend a bit more, the seafood restaurant Botafumeiro is a bigger investment, but the amount of food served is very abundant. They also have paella, and meat and veggetable options.

For tapas, Cerveseria Catalana is always a good option.
Good appetite!

Marta
By the way, check out my private tapas tours (4h just eating and drinking local specialities!)
