Answers

Wow, that's a hard one to answer....if they like healthy organic food, Restaurant Nora which has been good. If they want to see the sights via the river, there are two companies that offer dinner cruises...one is the Dandy in Alexandria, VA...can't remember the other one, but it's a bigger boat in Wash DC. Old fashioned european food would be L'auberge Chez Francoise in Great Falls or Old Europe just north of Georgetown. If they are old fashion folks, maybe Prime Rib or The Palm. If they like red wines, check with the Capitol Grille which used to allow you to bring in a bottle if you're having dinner there to open for free....but check.
That's about all I can think of for now.

Good luck.
Marakesh is a great place to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, etc. They're located on New York Ave, Chinatown metro. It's about 7 courses, eat with your hands (not as bad as it sounds), 20-minute belly dancer, etc. You feel like you've been transported to Morroco.

Mrs. K's Toll House in Silver Spring, MD is good (safe) bet, too.

Yes, Nora's is good. Cashions in Adams MOrgan is nice and they use local produce too.

There's a Russian restaurant in Great Falls, VA that I've been wanting to try - they have an adventurous range of meat - swanky place too - but not sure how adventurous your parents are. :-)
