Mtwapa is a coastal town which is about 30 km from the town center.It is safe and has a reputation of being a very interesting place for night life.The casuarina club , club Lambada and also its great numbers of pub makes it a place to be.Along the shore of the creek , nice accomodations are on offer and one can relax enjoying the sea breezes.It has no major attractions a part the Jumba la Mtwana which is a museum portraying a very old mosque and a very old house along the beach.
Mtwapa is a small fishing village with several restaurants offering gourmet meals. The Mtwapa Creek is becoming a popular destination for yachts and game fishermen.

Waterskiing can be arranged and small motorboats are available for hire.
