How about this, get to Hakoneyumoto (箱根湯本) early in the morning, take Hakonetozan tetsudo train to Gora (強羅)--35 minute ride, then take a tram to Sounzan (早雲山)--9 minute ride, then take an aerial ropeway to Owakudani. Enjoy the view there, get back to the ropeway to Ubako, then there's a hotel that welcomes visitors just for Onsen. If you are lucky, you will see beautiful Mt. Fuji from the open air bath!

Yes, Suigimoto-san gave you the standard sight-seeing course. By the way, early means you need to reach Owakudani before noon. Mount Fuji can be view clearly before noon. Most of the time, it will be blocked by cloud after that.

For outdoor Onsen, I suggest you get back to Yumoto, take a bus from Yumoto station toward Tenzan. Tenzan onsen is nice.
