Of all the cities I'll be touring, Santiago Chile is one I've heard about least. Anyone have any tips or resources?

Iquique in the chilean north, exotic, nice, different and with a lot of nature like beaches, dry landscape, old houses in the middle of a modern city, with shopping center without taxes, wonderfull seafoods and sun a lot.

hi! Santiago is a valley in the midle of hills and has a million of óptions depending of what are you looking for: culture, sports, nature, chilean food? I strongly recomend you to take a couple of days in the city and few more to visit the mountains and the sea, also valparaíso, and also the termas to relax. Good luck!
Santiago is becoming rapidly a world class city at least for latinamerican standards, although it presents a quite modern face specially in the upper class neighbor it still part of the chilean scenes if you visit the truly important parts rather than shopping centers full of winter tourists!
See the bellavista area with a hike to the Virgin Mary statue on the top of the san cristobal's hill. See Paris Londres neighborhood and keep going to the presidencial palace, La moneda, then Concha Y Toro Neighborhood among others, night life plently of opportunities however be aware of the thieves and some dark soul people hunting tourist down!
go to Good Luck
