Each seafood restaurant have their own niches. For pepper crabs. go for Jumbo or Eng Seng. If you want Chilli crabs. go for Long Beach. Fancier variations of seafood could be available at Tunglok Seafood Gallery at East Coast Park. For down to earth, simply cooked fresh seafood. go to the eatery at Pulau Ubin. their catch is fresh daily from the local seas.
There are 2 famous crab restaurants as 1 is in Toa Payoh known as Mellben as the address is Block 211, Lorong 8 Toa Payoh to drive in from Braddell Road.

The second one is in Block 232, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. I believe both restaurants are the same name.

You can try Singapore's Fabulous Four chefs known as Tham Yui Kai who is deceased but his restaurant is Red Star Restaurant in Chin Swee Road with Dragon Phoenix Restaurant in River Valley Road with Roland's Restaurant in Marine Parade. Singapore's Fabulous Four chefs are the creator of Singapore's toss-up known as Yu-Sheng with fish and various ingredients of colour vegetables.
My favourite place for seafood is the East Coast Seafood Centre - as much for the atmosphere as for the food. It's on the way to/from the airport:

There's a choice of several restaurants here to choose from. My favourites are Long Beach and Jumbo.

If you don't want to go all the way out East, you could try Red House at Robertson Quay, also very good:
