HALF OR FULL DAY TO HELLS GATE ------ONE DAY TRIP
Leave Nairobi City - The concrete jungle - and drive western wards stopping at the view point on the Great Rift Valley and view the Loita Plains and also from here you can see Lake Naivasha Sparkling in the sun thousand of feet below. Then proceed to lake Naivasha (and this is the highest lake in rift valley). Also Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930,s as a staging post for Imperial Airways, Flying Boat Services from Durban to London. You can have a boat ride to the Crescent Island (an option activity)

N/B: Crescent Island is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of Zebra, wildebeests, Gazelle and Giraffe and no predators

Are they only going for a day trip? There are three good campsites, in case they want to stay overnight in the park. Otherwise, they can stay nearby, at Fish Eagle Inn, Fisherman's Camp, or Carnelly's Camp, along the lakeshore.
Within Hells Gate, you can go for game drives, hikes, rock climbing, mountain biking, see the hot springs.... There are so many options. Hells Gate is unique, in that you are not limited to car travel. You are welcome to walk around the park on foot, or ride around on a bicycle. There are lots of great cliffs and natural, volcanic plugs (towers) to climb.
The game you might see there include Coke's Hartebeest, Eland, Zebra, Grants and Thompson's Gazelle, Warthogs, Bat Eared Foxes, Black Backed Jackals, Hyaenas, Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, and many others (Leopard, Cheetah, and occasionally lion, have been spotted there). There's plenty of variety with birdlife as well. Lesser Striped Swallows, White-Backed Vultures, Rueppell's Griffon, Vereaux's Eagles, Augur Buzzards, Superb Starlings, etc. The insect and reptiles found there are also diverse and easily accessible.

In my opinion, Hell's Gate can't really be fully experienced in a day trip. There's a lot to see and do, despite the fact that its a relatively small park.

Hell’s gate is an ideal family gateway for a day trip from Nairobi or stopover en-route to Lake Nakuru or the Maasai Mara and its located just after the turn off from the old Nairobi- Naivasha highway. The Park is famous for its natural hot geyser and springs, eagle and vulture breeding grounds, visitors have the choice of driving, walking, camping, cycling and rock climbing within the park. Among the animals to be seen include Coke's Hartebeest, buffalo, Maasai Giraffe, eland, lion, leopard and some cheetah. The park is a haven for birders as well.

Hells Gate is a hikers paradise. Clients can opt to do biking, horse backing riding or hiking. You can also visit the Crescent island in Lake Naivasha and maybe a boat ride. A visit to Crater lake is also rewarding. However there are no special animals found here other than antelops (elands, zebras, gnus etc) and a bearded vulture (unique to this place). Once they have the activities set, plse let know so that I can help give prices.
