Question

Is there wifi in hotels

I need to know if there is wireless internet in the major hotels in Japan

Location

Country: Japan

Answers

Some major hotels should have wireless internet. If not, many hotels do have LAN cable (plug into the computer via internet outlet). Although it depends on the city though. Some little towns do not have any internet connections at all!
I stay primarily at Toyoko Inns and they all have LAN or wireless.
Almost all kinds of hotels in Japan have the wireless service, I think.
But if it's too old or too cheap, it doesn't have.
And If there's no wireless in a hotel, there're Internet cafes, Mcdonalds',,, everywhere in Japan!!!
Near Tokyo Station, excellent location
Rather expensive
Shangri-la Hotel
Marunouchi Trust Tower Main, 1-8-3 Marunouchi,

If you are on a budget.....
Toyoko Inn is very good.

I agree with previous answers and inside some train station and public places you may see a sign telling that wifi is available, sometime it is also for free.
Don't limit yourself to western style hotels. Some traditional ryokans are also progressive enough to offer WiFi. A couple in Nagano are Seifuso in Yudanaka (near the snow monkeys, ) and here at Kamesei Ryokan in Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen ().
This hotel in the centre of Tokyo, Hotel JAL City Yotsuya, definitely has wifi. It is not the cheapest place to stay but is quite stylish and a close 5 minutes walk to the lovely Shinjuku Gyoen garden and 1 minute walk to the Marunouchi subway Yotsuya 3 chome station. I think you can get a limousine bus from Narita straight there to the door too. They have other hotels in the chain around Japan, and the staff seem to speak English fairly confidently.
yes all major hotels have wifi.even most local hotels have LAN,unless it is a very traditional Japanese Ryoukan.
Yes. Major hotels in Japan do have wifi. No problem.
