Question

I seek good & reliable tips and/or recommendations on local hotels in NZ that are flexible with advance reservations that do not...

...charge or demand deposits and no refunds etc. Am prepared to book online and see no other better & safe way with CC but travelling a long distance from north to south island and unsure of punctuality... we need & want the right chains or which would you suggest instead? Driving a Rental 4x4 and starting from Auckland to Rotorua and work our way down past Napier Valley and across Wellington to Malbourough Sounds after ferry crossing and heading along towards Milton Sounds for that boat trip and perhaps including Invercargill, Dunedin B4 flying out from Christchurch to give you an idea of the planned route considered.

Hi there,How long do you plan to stay in NZ? It sounds like you are very flexable on your travel plans in which case I would refer to the website for your accomodation bookings these give you very discounted prices with a wide variety of accomodation available. I would recommend driving from Auckland ( A normal rental vehicle is fine or a 4x4 which ever you prefer) to Rotorua then depending what you would like to see but possibly if you are time restricted I would fly to Wellington then. Catch the interislander to Picton and then pickup another rental vehicle or fly direct from Rotorua to Christchurch - pick up your rental from Christchurch and then of course your could return it to Christchurch. there are numerous options from picton highlights in the South Island are Queen Charlotte Sound drive - from Picton amazing scenery. Kaikoura - Whale Watching. West Coast - Punakaikai - pancake rocks spectacular - Hanmer Springs 1 hour north of Christchurch - Hot Pools Alpine Spa Village. Mt Cook Highest Mt in NZ. Queenstown - Adventure Capital of NZ - Doubtful Sound is amazing next door to Milford Sound and I think even more spectaular. Not alot to see in Invercargill and Dunedin has one of the biggest universities there so very studenty.
If you would like any more assistance please ask.

TQ Kim and Gil for yr replies whih are greatly appreciated!!! A thumbs-UP to you both and hopefully, I get to meet you guys somehow when we are cruise-driving through from Auckland to Christchurch.

Will consider and seriously look up on given recommendations from you both too... stay in touch, and btw, my wife popped the following q'n.

We have "Boots" in the UK and similar ones in Holland.

Can you refer which is the household name in NZ where we can obtain our needs of capsules and homeopathy tabs straight over the counter without a Doc's prescription?
We now plan to leave our daily consumption behind and curb the unnecessary carriage and be subjected to Sydney's stringent checks upon arrival... even though I had listed our medicinal dependence on a list for Aussie Authorities... just to be safe & sure in avoiding the hassle. Thanks in advance on any who can respond to this topic? :)

I was asked to verify what those tabs and homeopathy capsules are related or for... my apaolgy for not ibcluding clearly (it seems only natural to have overlooked it). At this age, a daily consumption of vitamines and Mega3 oils and ginseng for memory etc are what I consume daily... I hate medicines... but came to accept supplements to enhance vitality but not on any of those perfomance enhancing types sporters are becoming addicted to... so, a pharmacy is what I also meant where one can step in and purchase over the counter to stock just enough during my 3-weeks holiday for this would prebvent me any need to travel with tabs and capsules which may create unnecessary checks to controversy in any travels and cause again, suspicions with Customs at any airports. Prevention and sensible awareness is better than stubborn ignorance to cure away with repetitive explanation to authorities who also needs to do their work (and I support stringent scrutiny by Customs against traffickers of drugs myself) and we just want to enjoy unhindered holidays passing through... :)
So let me know which chain you would recommend that has a website too and I can look them up at which has what that I am satisfied in obtaining from whichever pharmacy when in NZ, thank you again.
"Pac and Save" have a wide range of the things you're after mate, most supermakets and chemists do actually.
TQ Patrick, that is a relief to note on, its same like us here. Appreciate this tip. Will try to Google on them. Cheersch mate.
