If on Algarve loads of transfer companies - don't use the regular cabs as they twice the price but as per previous answer where are you going to and from where???

Both bus and train fares are pretty cheap. Don't recommend taxis.
Setúbal 40 KM down south of Lisbon 40minutes from Parque das Nações bus station in Lisbon, it has one of the most beautiful bays in the world .
In Setúbal we can help for a sailing cruise we work on traditional boats restoration. In our team Al-Vlasov speaks your mother language. See you João Barbas

Thank you guys!
I actually wanted to go from Porto to Faro along the seaside.
In the bigger cities, Lisbon and Oporto, the Metro (subway system)will be the best option to know your way around. You also have great sightseeing buses which you can get in and out all through the day for the price of a day ticket.
Around the country other buses and a very efficient train system will take you along every possible route, many companies function on bus/train interfaces, in a very easy maner, with online ticket sales and route planners. Hope this helps, have a good trip.
Rent a car! The best solution!
Greetings!
Renting a car is expensive for a student

You can get around easily by train or bus. If you get away from city centers you might have some difficulty in finding public transportations that work round the clock...in which case you should plan ahead. if you need any help e-mail me at
Although excellent scenerywise, the railway network is a bit rough in Portugal. You may need a lot of additional transport to get where you want to be.
Busses take you all over the country and are not expensive.
Check for timetables and for the Algarve stretch of your itinary.
I would go by train it's the cheapest way. By seaside is better by car but much more expensive. Avis is a good company.
Hello you can come to Setúbal and discovery one of the must beutiful bay of the world. If you need pick up from airport in Lisbon and private tour please contact me.

Best regards
